Description: The Math in Focus curriculum has a few unique characteristics, particularly strategies for problem solving. In this training, we’ll provide an overview for this curriculum, and some practical help for teaching Math in Focus at home.

Description: Spell to Write and Read is an approach to spelling, reading, and writing that is based on the phonograms of the English language. In this seminar, we provide an introduction to co-teaching this effective program.
Please bring your Spell to Write and Read textbooks, rule cards, and phonogram cards.

Description: This is an official “Welcome to Providence!” for our upper school students. New Providence students will find out which house they will be in while at Providence, and spend some time getting to know other students. Snacks provided.

This orientation will help parents understand the differences between Lower School and Upper School and how to help prepare their students for this transition. We will break to watch as students are welcomed into their houses during the House Howdy.

Description: At this seminar, we will cover a lot of practical things you’ll need to know as a new co-teacher and parent (like retrieving lesson plans, upper school grading, etc), and we will offer seminars on various points of co-teaching.
NEW FOR 2018: For new AND returning co-teachers, we are scheduling various workshops and seminars, based on constructive co-teacher feedback that we’ve received.

Description: This day is mostly devoted to meeting and learning from grade level teachers. This is also an opportunity for co-teachers to meet fellow co-teachers.
If you only have one grammar school student, you will not need to be present for the entire time, but rather about half of this time.

Description: 7th - 12th Grade students and their parents will learn about their classes by going through their course schedule, taking about 25 minutes in each class.

Who attends? Any co-teachers who are schooling 3 or more Grammar School students.
Description: Light supper will be provided as you network and trade tips with other co-teachers. Then, co-teachers will move into grade level sessions.
