Providence Parents’ Survey

As we approach the end of the school year, we would appreciate your feedback on your experience at Providence this year. Your ideas and opinions are important to us, and we welcome your honest and constructive feedback.  Please complete one survey for each child you have at Providence.

Art Show help needed (please!)

We could really use some help tomorrow, May 3rd, displaying art in the gym from 4 to 6 pm.  No experience necessary!

Muffins with Moms

Moms, we’re celebrating you this Thursday during chapel and after.  We’ll have muffins in the gym along with our spring art show featuring art from our 2nd-6th grade students. We appreciate you!

What to Do Over the Summer (Preparing For Fall) Meeting

Of course your summer will be filled with swimming, day trips, vacations and friend time.  Come back to the chapel after Muffins with Moms to find out some ways to help your children continue learning over the summer as well.  We’ll be revealing the 2016-2017 booklist along with other helpful information.  Dads, you’re more than welcome to attend as well, of course. We’ll get started around 8:40. We will be sending the 2016 Preparing for Fall document out to all families at the end of this week.

Rising Senior Breakfast

The Rising Senior Breakfast will be Thursday, May 12, after chapel, around 8:20, in room 258. This is an occasion where the parents of current Juniors are encouraged to attend if possible.

Finals Schedule (9th – 12th Grades)

9th – 12th Graders will have a different schedule for the last two days of school (Tuesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 12) to allot more time for final exams. The schedule, similar to the one we used in December, . Note that there is no early dismissal for any grades during Finals week. Also note that our last day of school is on a Thursday for the first time.

Last House Lunch this Friday

House members are invited to wear their house t-shirts and jeans or uniform-style shorts (no athletic shorts, please).  If you don’t have a house t-shirt, a Providence shirt is okay instead, but please wear only Providence t-shirts..

Graduation ‘16

On Friday, May 13, we will celebrate the graduation of our 7 seniors. All Providence families are invited, and we would love for you to celebrate with us! Commencement exercises will begin at 7 p.m. in the FBC Belton Main Sanctuary. A reception will follow in the gym. We will have a “money tree” stationed in the gym as an option if you would like to give money to the graduates (the total amount of the money tree will be split 7 ways).

Spare Time: 5th-8th Grades

Celebrate the end of year with us by meeting us at Spare Time Bowling and Fun Center in Temple, May 6th from 4:00-5:45pm. Cost will be $10 for an hour of bowling and a game card.  Permission slips will be sent home this week.  Please return permission slips and payment – cash or checks to Providence – by next Thursday, May 5th so we can reserve enough lanes. Parents and siblings are the same cost. You may want to pack and eat a snack on your way over. Snacks are not included in this cost. Bring socks!

Summer Activities

Do you have a summer camp, club, sport, etc that you’d like to share with the Providence community? Let us know, as we’d like to feature these events in next week’s lamp-post.

May 10th PK – 1st music in chapel

Please join us as our Pre-K through 1st grade students showcase what they’ve learned in music this semester. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students have had a fun time learning some traditional songs from Renaissance time period (you’ll even get to hear some Old English!) and our Pre-K will perform some wonderful movements to classic piece by DVorak.

Don’t forget our sale will be held on the last day of school, May 12th, in the gym.
