Learning Differences Roundtable is Tuesday
We would like to gather our parents of Providence students who have learning differences for a time of support, listening, and feedback. If you are able, please join us tomorrow, February 20th from 8:30 a.m. (immediately following chapel) until 9:30 a.m. for this meeting in the small chapel.
Last Call for BoxTopsOne last call for Box Tops! The deadline for our spring drive is this Friday, February 23. So far, Mrs. Seiler’s class leads the lower school with 243, and Augustine House leads the upper school with 352. Thanks for your submissions so far! |
What’s Brewing? — March 1stWe have our next “What’s Brewing with Mr. Billman?” Thursday, March 1 at 8:20 a.m. in the gym. In part, I’d like to discuss how we as a school can support your family in discipleship. Hope you can join us for coffee and discussion. |
Richard and Jana Rivera delivered donated Providence uniforms to AMG School in Guatemala, and they were much appreciated! The Riveras will be returning to Guatemala in July, and are planning to collect uniform donations on the last day of school.
Speech Meet: What’s Next?On Tuesday and Thursday of this week, grammar school students in grades 1-6 will recite pieces in their own classrooms. At this level, students aren’t compared to classmates, but instead are evaluated using a rubric. Students who score Superior move forward to a competition phase that will take place next week. At that point, these students will say their pieces before a panel of judges. Then, two presentations per category per grade will be recognized. We’ll ask a few students to recite in chapel. Please make sure your child knows that he is not required to speak in chapel if he does well in the speech meet. |
First Grade Math in Focus Workshop February 20thStudents and co-teachers, please join us for this after school workshop on regrouping. Check your child’s lesson plans for more information. |
It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the middle of the semester! While conferences for mid-second semester aren’t required, you may want to meet with your child’s teacher for a more in-depth look at how he is doing academically. Please email your child’s teacher if you would like to set up a face-to-face meeting.
6th-8th Spelling BeePlan to meet us in room 247 on March 6th at 3:45 for this fierce, full-contact letter slinging contest! Words will be flying and syllables will be broken down until we have one contestant standing. Supporters and fans are welcome. If you haven’t received a spelling list yet and you want to compete, ask Mrs. Kemp and she’ll get one to you. The top three spellers receive gift card prizes and the opportunity to represent Providence in the upcoming Temple Daily Telegram Bee on April 14th. |
