Faculty & Staff

Bret Billman has been the Head of School since 2011. He and his amazing wife Sarah, have a son, Maddox, and a daughter, Olivia, who both attend Providence. The son of two educators, Bret grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended Baylor University, where he received a BA and an MA in English Literature. Following graduate school, Bret worked at North Side High School in Fort Worth from 2006 to 2011. At North Side, he taught Advanced Placement English, served as department chair, and held the Chase Chair for Teaching Excellence in Secondary English. At Providence, he has taught various levels of English and Logic, and continues to enjoy leading the school-wide Morning Chapel. Over the years, he has developed a passion for supporting family discipleship, and he leads a cyclical four-year program for students and parents to grow in their understanding of Scripture. He loves working with Providence teachers, students, and parents, and finds himself overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this position. Bret enjoys learning new things with his kids, playing board games, rooting on the Baylor Bears, shooting hoops, reading, and multiple other hobbies and interests that seem to change with the seasons. He lives in Temple and worships at Temple Bible Church with his family.

Annette Kemp is married to Mark, whom she met her first week at UMHB. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and taught in Copperas Cove ISD for several years before her oldest daughter was born. After being a stay-at-home mom for 13 years, Mrs. Kemp helped establish the Copperas Cove location of the Hope Pregnancy Center and served as its Director for 8 years. She and Mark are blessed by their relationships with their two precious daughters, Kara and Kayla. Annette and her family attend First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove where Mark serves as Pastor.

Shannon Morrison is the Director of Operations and handles the school's financial reporting and forecasting.  Shannon has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in Spanish.  She and her husband, Josh, served on the initial launch team that founded the school, and Shannon served as president of the Board of Directors from 2010-2017. Shannon and Josh have five children all at Providence and worship at Temple Bible Church.

Christine Baird is married to her wonderful husband, Drew, an Army physician, and they are blessed to have three children, Zachary,  Hannah, and Adelyn, all students at Providence. Christine graduated with a BS in Biology and English from Tulane University, earned her MD from Tulane School of Medicine, and completed residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. Although she no longer practices clinical medicine, she is grateful for the experiences her training afforded her, for the preparation of a lifetime of learning, and for the privilege of passing that love of knowledge to her children at home. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She and her family worship at Temple Bible Church.

Mitch Hedderly graduated from UT Arlington in 2002 with a Bachelors of Arts in German. Mitch's post-undergraduate work involved some flying of Army helicopters in one of the more dusty parts of the world (Iraq), while his adoring wife, Mandy, always awaited his returns with tremendous longing. Mitch left active duty in 2009 to pursue a career in education. He acquired a Texas general teaching certification for pre-K through 6th, and later certified as a 6th through 12th German teacher. Mitch left a 5th grade teaching position with BISD in 2012 to focus more on their children's homeschooling. He and Mandy are proud parents to two boys (Kyler and Karsten) and two girls (Kylie Anne and Kiersten) and are both avid "CrossFitters." Shortly after Mitch started at Providence as the P.E. teacher, he branched into Latin and logic instruction and founded the school's CrossFit affiliated kids' program for logic/rhetoric students.

After Bible college, Colleen Stafford began a career taking her from missionary work in India and Germany to dental office management in Temple, TX.   She and her husband John have two children, who are fiercely proud Providence alumni. When she has spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, and the New York Times Sunday Crossword Puzzle. The Staffords attend Temple Bible Church.

Miranda Lehmann holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Tennessee, and she is certified in regular and special education. She married her high school sweetheart, Brian, and has been blessed with two amazing children, Eli and Kiley. Miranda taught in a public school for several years before staying home with her children. During this time, she taught at a small church school, led Bible studies, and continued to take college courses. She began teaching first grade at Providence in 2012 and now also serves as the Grammar School math chair. Miranda has always loved teaching and has a passion for academic excellence.  She considers it a joy and privilege to be educating young children and finds that there is no greater delight than to see a hunger for learning in an young child.  Miranda’s family worships at Grace Baptist in Salado.

Lindsey Watson is the Grammar School Parent Liaison at Providence, helping to support and equip parents to be successful at home. Lindsey has a BA from Texas A&M University in English, with a minor in classical studies. She taught fourth grade and Latin at Live Oak Classical School in Waco for five years before becoming a stay at home mom. Lindsey is married to Stephen, a church planter and a Bible teacher at Providence. They have four children, all of whom are students at Providence. Lindsey also serves as the Children's Director at Christ Community Church of Harker Heights.

Christy is married to Eric Jackson and they have three active boys, Davis, Asa, and Bennett, who all attend Providence.  Christy received her bachelors degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.  Christy worked in the social work field as a case worker for 5 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom when her oldest son was born.  Christy now enjoys working at Providence part-time and homeschooling her boys on her days off.  Christy enjoys singing, running, drinking coffee, and spending time with family.

Kristen is married to her high school sweetheart, Barry. Their lives have been blessed with three sons: Case, Tate & Asher. Kristen received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She had the opportunity to work in many different areas of nursing following her graduation, including Hematology-Oncology, Medical-Surgical, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby and Day Surgery, to name a few. Upon the arrival of their second son, Kristen chose to take a break from nursing to focus full time on family life. She and her family have been a part of the Providence community since 2015, and she is excited to now have the opportunity to serve the children and families of Providence. Kristen loves the Lord and her family. In her free time, she enjoys doing anything in nature with her family, watching her boys participate in their various sports endeavors, reading, cooking/baking, and spending time with their dog & two cats. She and her family worship at Grace Church in Salado.

Stevi is married to Matt and is the mother of Amelia, Acie, and Alice. They have attended Providence since 2012. A graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor College of Nursing, Stevi has a background in both Surgical-Trauma ICU and mother/baby care and has taught classes at the local Hope Pregnancy Center for several years. She loves helping with the first grade after-school recess class, as well. Stevi has a house full of animals and loves being home with her family, dogs, and cats; teaching on home days; reading; and doing crochet.

Andrea Bartee earned a BSBA in Marketing Management as well as a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and is a diehard Razorback fan.  She has been a co-teacher at Providence since 2017 and joined the staff in 2022.  She and her husband, David, are active members of First Baptist Temple and serve in worship and children's ministries.  Andrea enjoys cheering on her two children, Waverly and Gatlin, and going on adventures with her family.  

Kaleigh Burch is a graduate of Harding University with a BS in Child Life. Having been classically educated through grammar school as a child, Mrs. Burch brings unique experience to teaching at Providence. This will be her second year teaching PreK, following many years of experience in childcare. "What an honor to start this teaching year at Providence! I am looking forward to my classroom full of students. I love the perspective children have on our world as they pause and appreciate the beauty in all things God created. I am excited to share the delights of learning with each of my students and parents!"  Kaleigh is married to Trey, and they have two precious girls, Rosemary and Margaret. Her family worships at Grace Salado.  Kaleigh enjoys baking all things sourdough, cooking, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.

Shari Smitherman is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Baytown but has been in Central Texas for 35 years. She has been a Gifted and Talented and Dyslexia Coordinator and taught regular education in kindergarten thru 4th grade at Belton ISD, Cameron ISD, and Rogers ISD for the past 33 years. She is excited about the opportunity to teach at Providence. She loves teaching kindergarten because the students are excited about learning, and teaching a child to read is such a joy. Shari and her husband, Joe, have 3 wonderful children, Joshua, Jacob, and Peyton Grace. They also have a sweet daughter-in-law, Jesika, who is a 4th grade teacher. Shari and her family worship together at Vista Community Church.

Sarah Billman is married to Bret, and they have two sweet children, Maddox and Olivia. She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and spending quality time with friends and family. Sarah completed her bachelors degree in Child and Family Development with a minor in Psychology at Stephen F. Austin State University. Her career has centered around children, first as a case manager and foster home developer, then as a teacher (first pre-school then Kindergarten), and most recently as her church's school-age children's ministry coordinator. Mrs. Billman says, "I love teaching Kindergarten because the kids are filled with wonder and amazement as they explore and discover new things about the world around them. Teaching a child to read is a priceless experience and one of the biggest privileges a teacher can have. I'm excited to share the joys of educating these Kindergartners with the people who care most about them...their parents!"

Mrs. Ruzicka received her master’s degree in theology with a concentration in Missions from George W. Truett Seminary at Baylor University and her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She has experience in classical, public education, and children's ministry. Noelle loves teaching and finds it rewarding to see a world of adventure open to a child when they learn to read. She is married to Micah, and they are blessed with two boys, Jayson and Jude. They like to go to the lake, hiking trails, and play tennis. Noelle is grateful for Providence. As a mother and teacher, she looks forward to partnering with parents and teachers to develop spiritual and academic growth in precious minds.

Kerbi Hardwick is married to her husband, Glenn, and they have been blessed with one amazing daughter, Hadley. Kerbi graduated from Abilene Christian University with an interdisciplinary study degree specializing in preK to fourth grades. She taught third, fourth, and fifth grades and then served as a reading and math interventionist working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade before staying home with Hadley. Kerbi is excited and feels very blessed to be able to teach and work alongside parents at Providence. The Hardwick family worships at Vista Community Church. In their free time, they like to play golf, read, spend time outdoors, play games together as a family, and try new recipes.

A native of Colorado, Christie King received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Early Childhood Education in 1988 from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Second Grades. After a whirlwind romance, she married her husband, Trey, in 1989. They share five grown children and two granddaughters, who fill their world with love, joy, and laughter. Christie was drawn into home education when her daughter was entering kindergarten. She marveled at the wonderfully rich curriculum and books, as well the opportunities for serendipitous learning, that Christian home education provided her family. After 18 years, God led Christie back into the classroom as a literacy specialist. She feels blessed to be joining the Providence Preparatory School, blending her experience and love of learning in both classroom and home settings. Christie and Trey attend Grace Bible Church in Killeen, Texas.

Jessica Skaggs has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Baylor University. She is married to her college sweetheart, Austin, and they have two wonderful children, Samantha and Charlie. She has been a co-teacher at Providence since the second year of the school. Jessica and her family worship together at Temple Bible Church, where she has served in many roles, including the director of the church’s special needs ministry. Additionally, she has led small groups, women’s bible studies, and Sunday school classes. She enjoys reading books, listening to books, coffee and tea times, hiking in gorgeous places, board games with her family, oh, and more books. She is excited to work alongside second-grade students to discover the delight and beauty in the world God created. She is honored to support and encourage parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children.

Laurie Eastup graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Management Information Systems.  However, immediately after graduation, Laurie began her career in education. She worked as a teacher and administrator in the public school system in Colorado for more than seven years, plus one year in the middle of teaching in Micronesia.  From 2018 to 2024, Laurie served as a missionary in Tanzania where she was the head of school for a classical Christian school at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. She looks forward to joining the Providence Prep family and bringing her love for classical Christian education back to her home state of Texas.

Tasha Heisch is honored to be part of the Providence faculty. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Baylor University, she taught for 4 years before her children were born. After that, she stayed busy by fulfilling her call to educate her children at home. Now she considers it a privilege and a blessing to partner with parents in educating their children through Providence. Tasha is married to her husband, Rory, and they have 3 children. You can usually find them working on their farm, where they raise goats, chickens, and honeybees. They worship at Temple Bible Church.

Alice is married to Mark, and they are blessed with two children, Faith (Providence Class of 2023) and Caleb (Class of 2028). Alice graduated from UCLA with a BA in Sociology and specializations in Urban Studies and Diversified Liberal Arts. She holds an MA in Teaching ESL from the University of Washington and recently received a certificate in Biblical Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Additionally, she is certified in 4-8 English Language Arts and Reading for the state of Texas. Alice and her family have lived and served among unreached people groups in East Asia and South Asia. Both Faith and Caleb were born overseas, and the Cox family delights in exploring different cultures and foods together. Lifelong learning is important to Alice, and she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Alice is also passionate about making disciples and praying for the nations. One of her favorite Bible passages is Ephesians 2:8-10, which reminds her of how she was rescued and for what purpose.

Margaret Kiesle began her teaching career at the age of two when her sister was born! From those nascent experiences she progressed to “playing school” in her backyard with her siblings and neighbors. Naturally, it followed for Margaret to study education at Indiana University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education. Although Margaret taught in public schools for three years, the delight of her career was home educating her four children through high school. Once her children had graduated, Margaret was eager for new educational opportunities and began teaching Fourth Grade and Latin A during the inaugural year of Providence. Her passion is to introduce, ignite, and inspire students with the magnificence of God as revealed in the awesome gift of language in the Bible, His written Word, and in the person of Jesus Christ, the living Word. Margaret joyfully praises God for creating her to teach and for allowing her to spend her entire life doing what she loves!

Cassie Fothergill is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a bachelor of science degree in education. She has taught in numerous elementary and secondary public schools throughout her career and is excited to join the Providence community. Cassie and her husband, Russ, have lived and worked in Central Texas since 2000. They have two young adult children, Grace and Sam. The Fothergill family attends Temple Bible Church, where Cassie helps lead the New Song widows ministry.

Jennifer grew up in a small west Texas town where she learned to drive a tractor before she drove a car. She graduated from Angelo State University with a BA in business management. It was there that she met her amazing husband of 14 years. They have two boys that keep them busy, and they wouldn’t want it any other way! She worked for Citibank as a financial analyst for three years before she stayed home to raise her boys. She began to homeschool in 2015 and then in 2018 made the transition to Providence. She joined the amazing staff as an instructional aide in 2019, and began teaching fifth grade in Fall of 2020. She is so glad to be part of the Providence family!

Rebecca Cagle has been married to her best friend Kevin for 27 years. They have two sons, Luke and Philip. Rebecca graduated from Belton High and then attended UMHB where she received her Elementary Education degree. She taught Kindergarten at Miller Heights in Belton for six years. She resigned from Miller Heights to stay at home with her sons, homeschooling them until they were in the fifth and sixth grades. She enjoys reading (especially history and Bible related), cooking, and hanging out with family. They worship at Temple Bible Church where they have worked with the youth and served overseas on short-term missions.

Jeanna Childers is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Education and History. She got married to her husband, Justin, in college. After college, she taught and coached in Weatherford ISD while her husband attended Southwestern Seminary. The next few years in ministry brought a few moves and three kids,the youngest was adopted from Ethiopia. While living in NC, Jeanna homeschooled her kids. Their daughter started at Providence in 6th grade and is now a senior. Jeanna has taught kids Sunday school for many years and loves teaching the kids how to study the Bible. She loves to run, teaches fitness classes at UMHB, and feels honored to work alongside her humble, patient, pastor husband in the ministry for the last almost 20 years.

Raised in a pastor’s home in Dallas, Texas, Sherrey Dennis, graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Academic Studies, Mathematics in 1992. While in college, she met and married her husband, Scott, and served in various roles as a pastor’s wife in churches throughout Texas until Scott became a military chaplain in 2007. Sherrey taught in the public school system for several years before becoming a stay at home mom and later a homeschool teacher. She has two grown children, Mary, a nurse, and Joseph, a graduate student. Sherrey enjoys teaching, reading, and finding the adventure.

Vicki Boyd graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Music with an emphasis on Vocal Pedagogy. At the time of her undergrad graduation, she began teaching voice through UMHB’s Music Conservatory where she taught for ten years. While in Austin, Vicki worked for Leander ISD with middle school students and taught lessons to undergrad vocal students. In 2009, she accepted the position of Music teacher at Christ Church School of Temple. While there, she also began teaching history, literature, Latin, Bible, and was the chapel coordinator assisting the pastor with music and ministry to the students. At CCS, she found a love for classical education and truly sought to inspire students to find the beauty and links between all of their academic studies. Vicki also rekindled her love of languages and taught preschool through eighth grade to appreciate the Latin language. She has served as a music associate and music minister at Christ Episcopal Church of Temple for the past 12 years and truly loves her church family. In her spare time, Vicki enjoys making historical models, spending time with her family and pets, and finding reasons to throw tea parties.

Cherie Flanagan is a graduate from Baylor University, Waco, TX with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She taught elementary and middle school math for six years at Waco Baptist Academy and classically homeschooled her two boys, Ryan and Timothy, until the the family joined Providence in 2011. She has taught Pre-Algebra at Providence since that time. Math is her favorite subject to teach, and she genuinely enjoys working a juicy calculus problem. Cherie is married to Tim Flanagan, and they live in Salado where they own a portrait studio called Solas Gallery. Cherie and her family worship at Grace Baptist Church in Salado.

Cassie Fothergill is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a bachelor of science degree in education. Cathy Gay graduated from Texas A&M University (‘94) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Before she and her husband started their family, Cathy taught elementary school in Austin and Belton ISDs. When the time came for her oldest daughter to go to school, Cathy and her husband, Lance, decided to homeschool, as they believed they had been the primary teachers for their daughters up to that point and that the Lord would equip them to teach academics as well. Cathy enjoyed homeschooling her daughters; during that time, Cathy and her girls participated in Helping Hands Homeschool Co-op, Classical Conversations, and Tapestry of Grace Co-op. Now, Cathy and one of her daughters are at Providence, with one more daughter now a Providence alumnus. They all enjoy the blend of home days and school days. While not at school, Cathy loves being with her family, watching movies, traveling, and laughing as much as possible. God is so good!

Tammy Null grew up in a small town in central Wisconsin but joined the Navy while in college and spent nine years as a Hospital Corpsman. Today, she is happily married for over 27 years to her husband, Dave, a retired Army Veteran. She and her husband have two grown children and are looking forward to being grandparents in the next few years. Tammy graduated from St. Martins University in Lacey, Washington, with a BA in Psychology in 2001. She received her teaching certification for fourth to eighth grades in the state of Texas in 2010, with emphasis in Science and Math. Tammy taught Middle school for five years in El Paso, Texas, teaching mostly math, which is her “love and passion”! She and her husband moved to central Texas in 2016 and started building their “forever” home in Salado in 2017. Since coming to central Texas, Tammy worked with the before and after school care and teen centers on Fort Hood as a Training Specialist. Tammy is very excited to be teaching again and looks forward to helping students navigate through math concepts. She and her husband are actively involved with Chapel Next on Fort Hood.

Amy Rognlie is a graduate of Colorado Christian University. She is licensed to teach Middle School Language Arts and Elementary Education and has taught at both public and private schools over the last fourteen years. Amy is thrilled to begin her ninth year at Providence and is looking forward to sharing her love of literature and language with her students. Amy is also an author and recently finished writing her eighth novel. She enjoys public speaking and blogs regularly on devotional topics. Amy and her husband, Greg, have three grown sons and one sweet granddaughter, Lacey.

Sharon Teter is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a B. S. degree in Industrial Engineering. She has been married to her husband, Tom, for 33 years, and they have six wonderful children. Five of their children have graduated from high school, and the eldest three have graduated from college. Their youngest, Tate, is in 6th grade at Providence. Sharon came to know and love the Classical model of education while living in Indiana and homeschooling her four youngest children. She spent six years teaching a variety of subjects utilizing the Classical model for logic and rhetoric students. Sharon’s greatest academic passion is in mathematics where she has spent over 10 years teaching and tutoring students. She absolutely loves helping students achieve success and see the connections both to our world and to God as our creator.

Kara Vaught began working as a newspaper reporter and editor as a teenager and completed her degree in Journalism and Mass Communication at Abilene Christian University. She continued in the field - working for newspapers in Odessa, Abilene, Galveston, and Austin - until the birth of her first child. Since then, she has served as the editor of three book series, taught a journalism elective for Logic School students at Providence, and assists with Student Support. The Vaught family worships at Salado Church of Christ. 

Brad Almond grew up the son of a military chaplain so he is both a preacher's kid and a military brat. Brad and his lovely wife Lisa have three children: Keylon, Rowan, and Penelope. Brad's journey toward classical education is a long and circuitous one. A product of 10 different public schools growing up, Brad finally "settled down" to earn a degree in music from Baylor University in 1995, after which time he swore never to set foot in a university again. However, in the years that followed, Brad saw his hunger for learning awaken and, alongside it, a keen frustration that his formal education had not provided him with the ability to think and reason as his favorite authors (C.S. Lewis being one) seemed to be able to do so effortlessly. Several years into graduate school, Brad began to read about classical education and became convinced that this was the essential piece his education had been missing. Needless to say, he is now a passionate advocate for classical learning and is eager to impart this love to the next generation of students. Brad also holds an M.B.A. from Baylor University and a Ph.D. from Boston College, and is an associate professor of management at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

Stephen Alston is a graduate of both the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton and Baylor University in Waco. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor/double major in History, and a Master of Arts in Church-State Studies. His passion for integrating concepts from subjects across the curriculum drew him to the classical approach to education. He enjoys reading a good book, listening to music and lectures, and writing poetry. He worships with his family at Temple Bible Church in Temple.

Carol Brown graduated from Texas Christian University in 1981 with a B.S. in home economics with an emphasis in child development. She is certified in both vocational and early childhood education. After college, she worked for the Salvation Army in Fort Worth coordinating after-school and summer care programs for disadvantaged youth. Shortly after Carol married her husband Eric, they became discouraged that so many Christians were seemingly ignorant of the purposes of education and the nature of a truly Biblical view of learning. The two of them decided to homeschool even before their children were born and right away began going to educational workshops. Carol became increasingly excited about giving her children an education rich in beautiful words and noble ideas that spark wonder at the glory of God. Along the way, she began to discover classical education and soon set about the difficult tasks of teaching herself Latin and re-thinking the methodology she learned in college. Carol has been homeschooling for eighteen years. Her approach to homeschooling integrates the principles of classical education with those of 19th-century educator Charlotte Mason. For several years, Carol taught humanities and elementary Latin to local homeschooled students. Carol joined the launch team for Providence and was one of the original logic and rhetoric school teachers.

Jeff Browning has a B.S. degree in chemistry and biophysics from Trinity University, a M.S. in biophysical and biochemical sciences from the University of Houston, and a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences. His career has focused on neuroscience and, in particular, the biochemical basis of brain function. He has been awarded several grants and has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts. Jeff is a professor at Texas A&M Medical School but has taught chemistry at the college level off and on part-time for more than 30 years, most recently at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. This allows the opportunity for Providence students to perform experiments in UMHB labs. He has taught chemistry at Providence since 2012, the first year it was offered. Jeff enjoys gardening and cooking.

Carla Hahn Clardy is an Adjunct Professor of English and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has more than 30 years’ experience in the writing, editing, and education fields. She holds two master’s degrees: one in applied linguistics from Texas A&M–Commerce and the other in medieval spirituality from the University of Dallas. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Dallas, graduating magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She has been happily married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. James Mark Clardy, for 34 years. They have five grown children –– Anna-Maria, Eve Elise, Alexander, Benjamin, and James –– and two dogs, a basset-lab mix and a piebald dachshund. Carla and her husband live in Temple and are active members of St. Luke Catholic Church. They are avid travelers, making frequent trips across the country and abroad. In her free time, she likes to sit by her pool and read, play with her dogs, and hike, especially in Colorado at Rocky Mountain National Park, which she thinks is the world’s most heavenly place.

Andy Davis retired at the end of 2020 after 32 years as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Belton and 47 years in active ministry. Although not officially part of the school until now, Andy has had the privilege of being present since the founding of Providence. His daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Eric Jackson, serve on the Providence staff; two of his grandsons are Providence students, and one grandson is a Providence alum. Andy and his wife Sharon Crane Davis have been married for 46 years and have two children and seven grandchildren. He graduated from Georgia Tech, served in the Army, and worked as an engineer before responding to God’s call to ministry. He then earned an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and was later awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree by the University of Mary Hardin Baylor where he currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees. Andy and Sharon remain members of First Baptist Belton. Andy loves to spend time with his grandchildren, read, and travel as he and Sharon have the opportunity.

Raised in a pastor’s home in Dallas, Texas, Sherrey Dennis, graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Academic Studies, Mathematics in 1992. While in college, she met and married her husband, Scott, and served in various roles as a pastor’s wife in churches throughout Texas until Scott became a military chaplain in 2007. Sherrey taught in the public school system for several years before becoming a stay at home mom and later a homeschool teacher. She has two grown children, Mary, a nurse, and Joseph, a graduate student. Sherrey enjoys teaching, reading, and finding the adventure.

Christy Douglass is excited to join the amazing mathematics department at Providence this year. Christy brings 30 years of teaching experience in local public high schools, where she taught everything from algebra to precalculus. She earned her BS and MS in Mathematics from Tarleton State University and Texas A&M University Central Texas, respectively. Christy and her husband, Dustin, are blessed with four boys, Caleb (married to Rebekah), Seth (married to Hannah), Ryan (15), and Rhett (14). They have three crazy rescue dogs, Molly, Coco, and Skye and a grand pup named Hoss. Christy enjoys reading, listening to music, laughing, playing games, lounging by the pool, singing karaoke, and family adventures at the beach or snow skiing. She also loves attending her sons' various activities, which currently include soccer, hockey, and marching band. Christy also teaches mathematics courses for Texas A&M University Central Texas and Austin Community College. She lives in Harker Heights and worships at Vintage Church, where she serves in the children’s ministry. Christy believes she is here on divine appointment and looks forward to sharing the wonder and beauty of mathematics with her students.

Lauren Glenn has a Ph.D. in English/Film and Media Studies from the University of Florida. She has been teaching literature, composition, and film courses for more than 16 years and has been teaching at Providence since 2014. Her academic research focuses on WWII films, and her favorite subject to teach is American Literature. Lauren is married to Chris Glenn. The Glenns’ daughter, Madison, graduated from Providence in 2019 and their son, Zeke, still attends Providence. Lauren’s favorite thing about Providence is the community that is fostered between teachers, students, and co-teachers.

Mitch Hedderly graduated from UT Arlington in 2002 with a Bachelors of Arts in German. Mitch's post-undergraduate work involved some flying of Army helicopters in one of the more dusty parts of the world (Iraq), while his adoring wife, Mandy, always awaited his returns with tremendous longing. Mitch left active duty in 2009 to pursue a career in education. He acquired a Texas general teaching certification for pre-K through 6th, and later certified as a 6th through 12th German teacher. Mitch left a 5th grade teaching position with BISD in 2012 to focus more on their children's homeschooling. He and Mandy are proud parents to two boys (Kyler and Karsten) and two girls (Kylie Anne and Kiersten) and are both avid "CrossFitters." Shortly after Mitch started at Providence as the P.E. teacher, he branched into Latin and logic instruction and founded the school's CrossFit affiliated kids' program for logic/rhetoric students.

Born in Korea, Cathy Hines moved to the U.S. when she was four years old. Growing up an Army brat, she resolved to never marry a soldier. She promised God she would serve Him in the church as a Sunday school teacher all the days of her life but did not want to marry a pastor either. Cathy is now happily married to Ben, a U.S. Army Chaplain/Pastor. God has a sense of humor! In 1996, Cathy graduated from Truman State University in Missouri with a B.S in Communication Disorders. In 2000, she received her M.S. in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Oregon. She worked in the field of Early Intervention for seven years prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom. In 2011, when the family lived on three different continents in one calendar year due to Army assignments, Cathy decided to homeschool Everett and JaeAnn. Since then, the Army has moved them about every two years, so homeschooling has been a Godsend. With their new assignment to Ft. Hood in 2020, Cathy began researching academic opportunities in the Central Texas area and stumbled upon Providence Preparatory School. The entire family has grown to love Providence immensely and now hopes to stay long enough for both children to graduate from here. The family attends Sunday worship at an Army Chapel on Ft. Hood. Cathy enjoys serving soldiers and their families, impacting one person at a time for Christ, and sending them on to other duty stations to impact others.

Erin Jeanes was born and raised in Temple, Texas. She is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her graduate degree is a Master of Science in Nursing from UMHB, and she is an RN with a national certification in family practice. During her career, she has worked as a registered nurse in NICU, oncology, research, post-partum and women’s health. After several years working at a local family practice clinic, Erin is now thrilled to bring her love for science to the students of Providence. She has been a co teacher at Providence the past 5 years. She and her husband, Daniel, are active in the community and attend Taylors Valley Baptist Church. They have three daughters, Faith, Brynn-Caroline, and Emmie. Erin hopes to instill in her students that one of the most fascinating ways to study the character of God is to study His creation. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and reading.

Brian Johnson received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from Baylor University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in Texas. Brian, his wife Vicky, and their two daughters are proud to call Belton their home. He is looking forward to sharing his love for business and finance with the students at Providence.

Courtney Robinson has a degree in English and Psychology from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. She spent nine years homeschooling her own children and five teaching grammar and composition in a local homeschool group before coming to Providence. She's never met a sentence she didn't want to diagram, and she loves teaching poetry to young people. She and her husband, Heath, have three sons and a daughter. They love seeing Christ's lordship over all things and worshiping with their brothers and sisters in Christ at Redeemer PCA.

Daryl Stacey graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Daryl married his best friend, Joanna, in 1996. He worked in the chemical industry in Houston, for a power plant design company in Abilene, an environmental consulting company, then a mechanical design firm in San Antonio. In 2000, he and his family moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where he worked for an architectural and engineering firm for 9 years. Daryl left the engineering world to become a stay-at- home dad for his four beautiful daughters. They all moved back to Texas in 2010 and he has been a co-teacher at Providence since 2012. He still holds a Professional Engineering license in Texas. He enjoys hunting, fishing, flying, running, skiing, woodworking, watching football, and most of all, spending time with his family. He and his family worship at Calvary Chapel Temple, where he is the worship leader.

Sharon Teter is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a B. S. degree in Industrial Engineering. She has been married to her husband, Tom, for 33 years, and they have six wonderful children. Five of their children have graduated from high school, and the eldest three have graduated from college. Their youngest, Tate, is in 6th grade at Providence. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with teaching concentrations in Latin and History from Baylor University and a Master of Latin degree from the University of Florida. In order to be employed full time at various schools over his twenty-year career, he holds Texas certification for Secondary Latin, History, Mathematics, English, and Composite Social Studies, adding the extra fields and teaching the "leftover" classes whenever necessary to do what he really loves and feel called by God to do: teaching Latin. Nathan's career has landed him twice before at Classical Christian schools, where he feels the best teaching occurs. As a single man, Nathan felt led to pursue adoption of a baby boy from Guatemala, bringing Samuel home at age 15 months in 2007. They worship together at Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Waco, where Nathan serves as a deacon and as music director.

Stephen Watson is a graduate of Howard Payne University and Baylor University. He has a BA in Christian Studies and a Masters of Divinity. His wife Lindsey is a dedicated co-teacher of their 4 children: Abigail, Jeremiah, Leah, and Nathaniel. Stephen has served in local churches in various roles since 1999 and has been teaching Bible at Providence since 2014. Stephen has a great love of teaching and proclaiming God's word.

Arthur Young graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Physics with a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. He has taught both high school science and mathematics for 22 years in California, Vermont, and New Hampshire. He has been married over 30 years and has two children. His wife is a doctor with Baylor Scott and White. In his spare time he enjoys reading, playing chess, and watching UCLA and Lakers basketball.

Lisa Almond studied music at Baylor University, concentrating in Music Education and Academic Music Studies.  As a vocalist, Lisa performed with several of the Baylor choirs including the University’s premiere show choir, Showtime!  Lisa also spent many years singing in the worship ensemble at her church.  As one of the founding families of Providence, Lisa and her husband, Brad, have been a part of Providence from the very beginning. They have served the school in a variety of ways during this time, and now Lisa is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in the classroom.  Lisa has a deep and abiding love of singing and of choral music (especially sacred choral music) that is simultaneously joyful, fun-loving, and reverent.  She hopes to impart all of this to her students as she teaches them to hear, appreciate, and perform beautiful music.  The Almond family is a very musical bunch, and their home is often filled with the sounds of hymn singing or of someone practicing the piano, drums, or guitar.  In her spare time, Lisa can often be found reading a novel by Jane Austen or Dorothy Sayers, or in the kitchen brewing a fresh pot of tea and baking scones. Lisa and Brad have three children, Keylon, Rowan, and Penelope.  The Almond family worships at Grace Bible Church in Killeen.

Kathryn Colon got a leg up in life from the start, as she had the privilege of being raised and home educated by our very own inimitable Carol Brown. Kathryn began teaching music in high school, beginning with piano lessons for her little brother. She graduated from UMHB in 2011 with a degree in music education and has taught choir in public schools and community choirs ever since. She has a deep and abiding belief that music education is truly for every child and has made it her mission to show her students what great joy can be found in the practice of singing together and the riches that music study offers. At home, she enjoys digging in her garden, her cookbooks, and her massive book stack. But mostly she loves the endlessly creative and intense work of making a life-giving home while raising three little ones with her steadfast husband Joey.

Debby Morris is from Houston and graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with a double minor in classical dramaturgy and chemistry. She has performed off Broadway at the Joseph Papp Public Theater, Circle in the Square Repertory Theatre, Houston’s Shakespeare Festivals, as well as in various community theaters in Houston, New York City, New Haven, CT, and Los Angeles, CA. She studied classical acting at Stella Adler’s Conservatory of Acting and modern acting under Jose Quintero. She also pursued Film and TV through TVI in Los Angeles before returning to Texas to start a family and coach private acting students from the University of Texas. Debby is married to Will Morris IV, President of Charter Real Estate, and has three children who attend Providence: Will, Christian, and Camille. She absolutely loves coming alongside students to help them realize their God-given creativity and employ that gift into all areas of their lives. She is passionate about classical works and the process an actor sojourns through to understand a great work of literature. This process is crucial in polishing the necessary social skills to build a well-rounded classical student. Debby and her family worship at Temple Bible Church.

Aimee Rodocker is married to Jeff and has three children (Chloe a Providence graduate, Isaac and Tessa.)  They worship together at Apologia Church.  She is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a specialization in Early Childhood Education.  She has 7 years of experience in the public school setting.  She began homeschooling in 2013 with her oldest daughter and never looked back!  Over the years, she has taught in One Day Academy, led a homeschooling nature study and journaling group, and taught Chinese students learning English. She enjoys reading anything and everything, long hikes in beautiful places, and fostering dogs.  She is excited to partner with parents as they teach their children and hopefully inspire them to find and appreciate the beauty in the world around them through art study.

Originally from Texas, Alea holds a BFA in Visual Arts Studies from the University of North Texas. As a proud military wife, she has supported her husband and two boys through many seasons of military life and is excited to be nearing Army retirement in her home state. She has taught art in Killeen ISD and now serves as the Office Administrator at Christ Community Church. With a strong background in the arts and a heart for service, she is passionate about creativity, community, and faith.  

Zaida Tidwell graduated from University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 2021 with a B. A. in Music. During her time at UMHB, she studied piano as her primary instrument. She also had opportunities to study Organ, Choir, Elementary Music, and Piano Pedagogy. Her love of teaching was sparked when she began teaching piano her sophomore year of college. For fun, Zaida enjoys piano, photography, reading, and spending time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Dylan, at local coffee shops. Teaching music continues to be a rewarding ministry for her as she teaches music at Providence.

Eric is married to Christy Jackson, and they have three active boys - Davis, Asa, and Bennett - who all attend Providence. Eric received a bachelors degree in Exercise and Sports Science and then a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he also played intercollegiate basketball. Athletics has always been important to Eric, and he feels competing in sports builds an array of skills and is a great way to honor the Lord and to show gratitude for the gifts and talents He has given us. In his spare time, Eric enjoys running, coaching his boys, watching sports, and spending time with family.

Daena Rowe is married to Daniel, and they have two children, Norah and Adam, who both attend Providence. Daena graduated from The University of Mary Hardin- Baylor in 2008 with a degree in music education. Since then, she has taught music in both public schools and here at Providence. She also teaches piano lessons in her home. The Rowes attend Grace Salado Church, and, in their spare time, they enjoy watching the Astros.

Tim is married to Kim, and they have two daughters Lilly and Sadie who have been Providence students since 2012. Having joined the US Army in 1989, he was stationed at Ft Hood for most of his time in the military and is a Gulf War veteran who belongs to many different Veterans organizations. He has coached multiple sports from tee ball, softball, baseball, youth basketball, volleyball, and, most recently, varsity girls basketball for over 20 years and at different age levels. He helped start the Providence girls' basketball program in 2019 with the school's first junior high team. He loves teaching basketball and teaching young people the responsibility of sportsmanship, how it translates into being a godly person and how it translates the love of God on the court. With the help of many great assistant coaches, the team won a district championship for junior high in their second year (2020-2021). They also had a very successful first year for the girls' varsity team in 2021-2022.

Andrea Bartee earned a BSBA in Marketing Management as well as a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and is a diehard Razorback fan.  She has been a co-teacher at Providence since 2017 and joined the staff in 2022.  She and her husband, David, are active members of First Baptist Temple and serve in worship and children's ministries.  Andrea enjoys cheering on her two children, Waverly and Gatlin, and going on adventures with her family.
